For the serious koi enthusiast the Oasis Vortec filter is the ideal pond filtration system.
Koi fish are larger, eat more and therefore create more waste than other pond fish. Fish waste, unconsumed food and pond debris, such as decomposing vegetation if left untreated will result in the build up of pollutants such as ammonia and nitrates which could harm your fish. The right vortec filter, as well as maintaining clear pond water, will remove such toxins ensuring that your fish have a healthy habitat to live in.
Made from high density polyethylene (HDP), the Oasis VOR-TEC™ pond filters are specifically designed for koi ponds from 12,000 litres (2600 gallons) up to 30,000 litres in capacity (6500 gallons).
The sturdy, robust construction of the vor-tec filter offers both the novice and experienced pond keeper a range of professional class filters that are quick and simple to install, low in maintenance and extremely well priced without compromising on their quality or capability.
Available in four sizes: 12000, 16000, 20000 and 30000 litres, the vortec koi pond filters are supplied in either pump, or gravity feed versions and come complete with slide valve assembly which allows you to back flush the vortex filter and the brush chamber to remove excess sediment from the unit without the unnecessary loss of pond water.

The most important thing to remember when choosing a filtration system for your garden pond is that you can never over filter; you can however under filter. Choosing a smaller aquatic filter is a false economy; the water will not be filtered correctly which will result in a build up of pond debris and potentially harmful bacteria, as such if your pond capacity is close to the maximum size for the filter always go for the next size up. This applies to all aquatic products, not just the Oasis vor-tec filter.
