Garden’s terracotta water features are hand-made in Crete. We have been selling these pots for over 8 years and they have been extremely popular. The styles and methods used in the creation of the terracotta originate from ancient Minoan traditions, dating back to the second millennium B.C.

Pottery production in Crete is very much a cottage industry and is very much untouched by time. Crafted on a wooden wheel, the skill of the potter is of great importance. Production is a pain staking process, involving several stages and taking up to 5 days to produce, Garden’s terracotta pots are of the highest quality.
While these urns must be drained of water in the event of freezing weather to prevent them from bursting they are frost proof and will withstand freezing surface water.
